About this Site and Me
This site was born out of my love for rainbows and my desire to understand how they work. Its a way for me to make and organize my notes, while also aiming to educate other people who are interested. It's also to collect related information in one place and preserve it. Here you will read about how rainbows are formed, the physics behind them, related phenomemon, and eventually other concepts related to light and color.
My pages have in-text citations crediting where I got the information from, although basic physics concepts found in any Physics 101 textbook are not cited. Likewise, some basic diagrams are not credited.
This site uses JavaScript for the light and dark mode buttons, and to insert the navigation list into every page (so I don't have to manually edit each page). Your browser may remember if you chose light or dark mode, but it will not store anything else from my site. I don't sell or analyze your data, infact I don't make any money off of this site, its just for educational purposes. It does't cost me anything anyways.
I'm just one person putting this site together with HTML, CSS, and a little JS, I'm not a brand, company, or any kind of organization, just a guy who likes rainbows and colors a whole lot. My name is Simon and while I have an associates in Chemistry, I do not have a strong physics background, which is behind a lot of the phenomenon described on these pages. I can't guarentee the accuracy of the information on this site, but I try to the best of my understanding.
In my day job I make dentures! I also have a personal site for fooling around: Solaria's Webspace. Currently this site is a part of that one, but I plan on making this one its own eventually.
I don't take emails, but but feel free to leave a message in the comment section below!
